Electrical Engineer Sand Hill Mercury Comet Anderson Since graduating I left retail and started working in electronics. That resulted in two degrees from AB Tech, and BS and MS degrees from WCU. I currently work as a Senior Field Applications Engineer for a multinational aerospace/military company. It is very interesting to design components into anything as I say that “rolls, flies, shoots or floats”. I have been very fortunate to have been nationally published 14 times in technical journals, conference proceeds and magazines. On the fun side of life, I have my beautiful wife Martha, two grown children and two grandchildren. Our grandson, a fireman, just got married in our front yard in June. What a treat to see the fire engine as their getaway vehicle. Martha and I are avid road and trail bike riders and enjoy kayaking and hiking. Any chance we can get we combine that with touring whatever is the latest small microbrewery in the town we are riding in at the time. We also really enjoy live concerts and just got back from seeing Roger Waters of Pink Floyd fame. In one form or the other we have seen Pink Floyd 7 times, and Martha’s favorite The Rolling Stones 11 times. I lost count at over 200 major bands I’ve seen. The music from the 70’s still rocks. I still remember as a freshman walking near the cafeteria not knowing what or where to go and being "offered" the opportunity by a senior to be put in one of the large gray trash cans...I declined.

self-employed Candler Charger Ammons, Moore Anyone interested in what I have been doing can go back and look at previous profiles. I am living in the same place, married to the same spouse(Cherie)with the same two children(Laura, Lindsay)and still operating the same businesses. The only updates would be that children have moved out and we probably have a different dog which because the children have moved out, gets talked to more than he would like to be. On a personal note, I usually have a pair of reading glasses in my pocket and the DMV made me change the color of my hair on my drivers license from brown to gray. I look forward to the class reunion because it gives us a chance to reflect on this journey we call life. It takes us back to our roots and though we have taken a lot of different paths, we share a commonality that is well worth remembering. I hope to see you all and share a memory. A lot of good memories, most revolved around good friends and school activities. I guess basketball season and some of the stuff that went on in the stands and after games bring back a lot of memories. I won't get too specific, I don't want to embarrass some of my co-conspirators, but I am sure they know what I am talking about.

attorney; public defender Venable Elementary & Sam D. Bundy Elementary, Farmville, NC 1967 Mustang Mr. Chapman, Ms. Putnam, Ms. Anderson, Ms. Crowe, Ms. Edsel, Ms. Kaiser, Ms. Clouse, etc. I attended and graduated from Texas Christian University (TCU), Ft. Worth, TX, 1977-1981; taught school in Newton-Conover, NC, for 2 years; went to law school at Campbell University, 1984-1987; practiced law in Asheville 1987-1996; moved to Beckley, WV, in 1996, then to Lewisburg, WV, in 2001, to work as a public defender. I am married (24 years), & have a son, Cyrus, who is 23 years old. I have a lot of great memories from high school. On the whole, those were good days that I recall with much nostalgia. It is quite difficult to pick out one, or two, to share. I remember playing football (with the Jets and the Smokin' Stogies), running track, the plays I was in ... especially The Bear & Lil' Abner ... the National Forensic League competitions, etc. But, mostly, my friendships stand out, along with all of the small moments and shared experiences that made high school life so much fun.

Christian Ministry Woodfin, Johnson, Venable Pontiacs Tom Chapman After HS I ran a health club for 3 years, that’s where I met my wife of 34 years, June (Netherton) Jarvis. I then worked with Quaker Oats and PepsiCo for 23 years in account sales, living in Greenville SC, Clemmons NC and Charlotte NC. We moved back to Arden in 1994. During those years I came to Christ, started serving and teaching in church and graduated Moody Bible Institute. In 2007, I was commissioned as a missionary by Biltmore Baptist Church, where we’ve served 15 years, and joined the staff of The Institute of Biblical Leadership, a ministry to Christian leaders around the world. Since then I’ve had the pleasure of working with and serving leaders in Southeast Asia, Central America, Africa and across the U.S. June and I have 2 grown girls, Jessica (31) and Kelsey (26) and we enjoy traveling and trying to stay in shape. My funniest HS memories were a few perfectly-timed water balloons I bounced off the ceiling in the main lobby. This serves as a long overdue confession to some of you
